APTi Mission

The independent voice for psychological type, we seek to promote human understanding through the transformative power of type. APTi is a global membership organization committed to advancing the responsible, constructive and ethical use of personality type through education, training, research, networking and community.

Chapter History and Awards

The Portland Chapter was awarded the Otto Kroeger Chapter Growth and Development Award in 2007 from the Association of Psychological Type International. The award represents the appreciation of the contribution we made to type and the APTi over the past years. It was especially noted that our chapter did an excellent job of hosting the International Conference in 2005. For winning that award, we were given $500 to mentor another chapter. We mentored the WA State (Seattle) chapter that just became an official chapter. We are now part of a vibrant Type Region!

Carolyn McCall, founder of the Portland Chapter and long-time Chapter Coordinator, was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Leadership award in 2007. We’re very proud of Carolyn that her work was recognized by APTi. She is our first Emeritus Board member of the Portland Chapter. Congratulations, Carolyn!
